WORD OF FAITH

When we say a “Word of Faith,” we need to first ask the question: WHAT IS FAITH? Let’s look at the Word of God for our answer.
Hebrews 11:1: Now faith is the substance (or confidence) of things hoped for, the evidence (or conviction) of things (or facts) not seen.
One of the best definitions of faith is found in Romans 4:17-21: ...(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he (Abraham) believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced (persuaded) that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. It is the word of God that we need, but something must happen, which is in 1 John 5:14-15: Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask (decree) anything according to His will (and His Word), He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask (decree), we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
It is important to remember that life and dearth are in the power of your tongue. Proverbs 18:21: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. In Matthew 12:34 and 37, Jesus said: “...For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks....For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” It is not just saying something, but it is declaring something that is coming out of your heart or out of your Spirit man.
Job 22:28a: You will also declare (decree) a thing, and it will be established for you. We see throughout God’s Word and history that when a king made a decree, that thing he decreed was established. Only kings could make such a decree. However, we are instructed to make the same kind of decree on behalf of the Kingdom of God as His kings and priests.
Let’s look at some scriptures concerning making a decree. Matthew 7:7a: “ASK (to say, make a decree), and it will be given to you...” Matthew 21:22: “And all things, whatever you ASK (to say, make a decree) in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Psalm 2:8: “ASK (call for, say so, decree) of Me, and I will give (add, appoint, assign) you the nations for your inheritance (your portion), and the ends of the earth (uttermost parts) for your possession.”
It is not just the power of the spoken word; it is the power or authority behind the one decreeing the word. 1 Corinthians 4:20: For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. While it is clear that one must speak words, the power is not in the words alone but the power or authority in the one behind the words and decree.
Jeremiah 1:9: Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.” God’s words are creative words, power words, and words which speak into existence. They are words which speak on God’s behalf.
Now comes the key to speaking. We need to learn the “language of faith” or the “language of God.” Praying or speaking in tongues is the safe and secure language, especially when you do not know how to pray or what to say. This is the language of God we need to learn.
In the beginning before creation, Jesus the Word didn’t say to the Father, “Father, I don’t have anything to create the earth with. There are no resources.” Remember that the earth was without form and void. No—Jesus the Word SPOKE. His words all by themselves created and released all things.
The Word of Faith or language of faith is not just speaking scripture, but it is speaking the word of God which is in you that has become a rhema word, or a word of life. It becomes a God word with anointing—the language of God.
Over the years as I have traveled in India, Brazil, and Portugal, I have spoken a rhema word. Many times I have made a decree over couples who couldn’t have children, and now they have children. There are dozens of children alive today because of the rhema word of God which was spoken. The same can be said about numerous healings and callings in people’s lives.
When I go to Brazil, I can learn a little Portuguese which is spoken there. However, in order to speak the language of Brazil, it is going to require me to have the heart and mind of Brazil, and to see, feel, and understand the customs and ways of Brazil.
In the United States, we have the language of religion. There is the language of people in different regions. There is street language, there is grumpy language, and seductive language. However, above all, we need to learn Kingdom language.
Don’t pray or speak from your lack or sickness, but speak as if it is already present. Give thanks in all things, and speak from life to life. Psalm 19:14: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. The word “acceptable” is to bring pleasure to God or to bring His favor, releasing His favor.
So what I hear now when I read this verse is: “Let the words that come out of my mouth, and the meditation or things I think about in my heart, bring pleasure to God and bring favor and release of God’s purpose.” We should want to only speak God words, which are words of life, to ourselves and those around us. Remember that creation is waiting for us to SAY SO!
You are made in more of God’s image than you think. Look at the power of DNA. There has been a test done which has revealed some amazing results. When someone is angry and hurt or upset, resulting in a negative emotion, their DNA will tighten up, which will result in sickness and more depression. However, when a person is happy, joyful, and flowing in love, the DNA is released and free. Those who did the test even took someone’s DNA fifty miles away from the person, and the DNA fifty miles away had the same reaction as the DNA present with the person.
What that says is there is more to who we are than we realize. The power of our DNA has a divine link to our being in God’s image.
